Bonita Springs, Fla. – (Dec. 11, 2013) – Just in time for holiday gift-giving, The Rotary Club of Bonita Springs has begun selling tickets for It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, the inaugural show of its Rotary Theater Production Company. Performances are scheduled to run for three evenings – Tuesday, Feb. 11 through Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 – at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church Parish Life Center, 28290 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs, Fla.
Inspired by the classic American film, It’s a wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. Ten actors perform dozens of characters in the radio play while piano underscores the action and a Foley Artist provides 47 sound effects on stage. This classic holiday story stars George M. Cohan III as Mr. Potter, the richest and meanest man in all of Bedford Falls. This was one of the 10 most produced plays last year in America, so be sure to buy tickets early – and as gifts – for it is likely to sell out.
VIP tickets for reserved, preferred seats and including a pre-performance Director’s Reception are $60, and general admission tickets for unreserved seats are $30. Tickets can be purchased online through the Rotary Club’s website or directly at It's a Wonderful Life
“The idea for this play was conceived by a group of Rotarians during a social event last spring,” said Bob Lombardo, a board member of The Rotary Club of Bonita Springs, who is producer of the play. “We were trying to come up with a creative way to engage our members and to raise funds to help fund the many community organizations supported by our club. Our creative conversation led to the idea of a play. I’m delighted that my brother, Dan Lombardo, who previously served as Artistic Director of the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater in Cape Cod and has worked with more than 70 professional theater productions, helped select a play and has agreed to be the play’s director.”
